It is hard to review an event after a while

because you cannot remember much besides what struck you but from the game with Aurora Băicoi, first after a year, I remember that for sure A. won`t have a say in regard to the playlist. Maybe only if M. gets between us begging the group to let A. play this game which is so diverse in this club. I think this makes it funny and successful.

How was the event? Although I missed the trainings, the impression from the chat is that the game preparation was the same as in the past. Then the gameplay was satisfactory considering it was the first after a year for which the guys did not mobilize as good as they could but I think that in the end it was good cause we made new friends and I get a feeling that this gave also an impulse to the social rugby around here. I consider myself first and that moment when you want to play something but nobody`s around. I think that such events will ease in the future nice plays to many.

Then it followed a first encounter in the amateur rugby championship called Super 5. It was a long day, so long that I do not remember many things but I am sure I was enjoying it and probably I felt well too in many moments. I believe this more as many mates feel the same.

Initially I left home with some reserves as the way to Bod is not a pleasant one but the discussions during the trip have made it very short. As I was more of a supporter, I went more for pleasure. It has to be mentioned that I am a total amateur. I never played rugby before and I followed this sport just as this blog is followed: never. Given this, what I tell is my perspective and it gets to nowhere. Maybe this allows me to say pretty much anything.

Considering that the event was for amateurs, for guys like me for example, I think that the day left me with mixed feelings if I refer strictly to the event. I think that the organization was good considering that the location was changed a few days before. I would have enjoyed more shade but the fridge in the changing rooms evens the former. It is called Super 5 cause there are 5 teams. So everybody plays everybody. From what I have seen, I have approved the attempts of some teams to play dynamic using spaces and somehow spectacular. Exactly the game I would play. I mean “attempts” cause the heat caused some plays in some games that for an amateur, for a possible future social rugby player, even for a young person, to be very unattractive. The whistle was blown often than the trains moving around Giulești when Rapid is playing. If I would have desired such stuttering, I would have watched American Football.

In the end we were happy cause, given the circumstances, nobody got injured. Some got though this in the past and it can get very hard. For getting to the trainings, trips or other games, most of us leave earlier from work, request an evening or even a day off from the family duties, pay from our own pockets every experience. An injury, even having an assurance for it, is too much. I am not saying that rugby is a violent sport. I think that more popular sports are more violent, but in the end the players decide this.

From our game it will be hard to forget how B. kicked the ball from the middle of the field like he done it 30 years ago and ran for the try. I think that if M. would have scored instead of B., M. would have flown even now without any jet. It`s already a few days since then… What I also find amusing is that we had some ice that was used entirely for cooling some beer. No player considered keeping some for the water needed during the game. So amateurs.

When it came time to head back home, I got excited knowing the way back will be long. J. released the kraken. I thought during some moments that we were experiencing a bit from the Orleans siege but O. paused this 4 times as he was close to end like Tywin Lannister.

The third day after this I could say that was another day in paradise.
