When in Krakow

I feel like we've been ...

I feel like we’ve been

skidding lately. We skidded to a nothing that kept us in a nothing nothing. That much nothing it was to me.

Traveling to Poland was, at least in terms of impression, an escape from that void. It is great and necessary to have a goal and a plan in every activity in which you are involved. Your life seems having some kind of sense, and the adventure is unique. Preparations for this tournament began a few months earlier. It’s an opportunity for everyone to maximize their returns from what I think is a lifestyle. Then you get wasted during summer when being in a great shape.

That didn’t happen. For a small success you have to fail several times in a great style. We had aimed for great success.

Maybe now I bring my personal background to the story, but I liked that we spent 2 days more than the tournament and that we were able to spend time together without thinking too much and discover Krakow like a pack of wolves. Being part of such a club is an opportunity to live beyond routine and rules. I know people who long for something like that. Others, who have somehow tried similar experiences, want to repeat but fail. I know we live in a pretty rigid culture, but everyone has to start from it. Join a club. Not necessarily in those that greet you with special offers and free alcohol.

The rugby tournament seemed kind of fad to me. In regard to the competition, we finished on a place similar to a passing grade at school. Otherwise, I think it was a series of days during which we had somehow the most fun so far. There is a lot to say but more importantly, we have measured ourselves again with old clubs, with good players, with well-developed systems, with experiences from afar and we have seen what our priorities will be until the next major event. Krakow is a really beautiful city, with a lot of history, quite tidy and neat. Sometimes I thought I was in Germany. But ”we broke our tongues” by calling our Polish names. At one point, all were Sobieski to me. As hard as it seemed at times – it was worth it. Now we`re looking for the next hardships.
