Gosford All Blacks RFC returned to Bucharest to face Arlechinii AWRC, renewing a rugby friendship that began with our first international match.

Gosford All Blacks RFC Return to Bucharest

The visit of Gosford All Blacks RFC to Bucharest was more than just another international rugby fixture for Arlechinii AWRC. It was a reunion with a club that occupies a special place in our history.

Many years ago, Gosford All Blacks RFC were our opponents in the very first international match ever played by Arlechinii. For many of our players, that game marked the beginning of an incredible journey that would see our club build friendships and rugby connections across Europe.

That is why welcoming Gosford back to Bucharest for a second visit was such a special occasion.

More Than a Game

Every rugby player enjoys the challenge of competition, the physical battles, and the excitement of scoring tries. Yet what makes rugby special is everything that happens beyond the final whistle.

Throughout the weekend, players, coaches, supporters, and friends came together to share stories, experiences, and laughter. New friendships were formed, old rugby traditions were celebrated, and everyone involved was reminded that rugby creates connections that extend far beyond the field.

A Tough Challenge on the Pitch

As expected, Gosford All Blacks RFC brought intensity, experience, and quality rugby. They gave us a tough day at the office and challenged us in every area of the game.

Matches like these are exactly why international rugby friendships matter. They push us to improve, test ourselves against different styles of play, and continue growing as a club.

More Than Opponents

While the game itself was fiercely contested, what makes this relationship special goes far beyond the final whistle.

Over the years, Gosford All Blacks RFC have become much more than opponents. They are friends of the club and an important part of our international rugby story.

The respect shared between our teams reflects the values that make rugby unique: friendship, camaraderie, and mutual appreciation for the game we all love.

Thank You, Gosford

We would like to thank Gosford All Blacks RFC for returning to Bucharest and for another memorable day of rugby.

You were our first international opponents, and that is something we will never forget. Eleven years later, it remains a great honor and a genuine pleasure to share the pitch with you once again.

Here’s to many more years of rugby, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
