International amateur rugby day: Arlechinii AWRC Hosts Wasps RC and Bandar Logs Marseille

This international amateur rugby day hosted by Arlechinii AWRC was much more than a series of rugby matches. It was a celebration of friendship, respect, and the values that make rugby one of the most unique sports in the world.

Over an incredible day in Bucharest, we had the privilege of welcoming two outstanding clubs: Wasps RC, the legendary team from London, and Bandar Logs Marseille, one of the friendliest and most passionate rugby teams we have ever met. Together, we shared not only competitive matches but also unforgettable moments that demonstrated the true spirit of rugby.

More Than a Game

Every rugby player enjoys the challenge of competition, the physical battles, and the excitement of scoring tries. Yet what makes rugby special is everything that happens beyond the final whistle.

Throughout the weekend, players, coaches, supporters, and friends came together to share stories, experiences, and laughter. New friendships were formed, old rugby traditions were celebrated, and everyone involved was reminded that rugby creates connections that extend far beyond the field.

Learning From Great Rugby Clubs

Hosting teams from different countries is always an opportunity to learn and grow. Wasps RC brought with them the rich heritage and traditions of English rugby, while Bandar Logs Marseille demonstrated the warmth, enthusiasm, and camaraderie that define the French rugby community.

Both clubs showed exceptional sportsmanship, passion, and respect throughout the weekend. Their attitude on and off the pitch embodied everything that amateur rugby stands for.

The Importance of the Third Half

Rugby has a unique culture often referred to as the “third half”—the time after the match when opponents become friends, share a meal, and celebrate the game together.

This weekend was a perfect example of that tradition. While the matches were fiercely contested, the atmosphere afterward reflected the values that unite rugby players around the world: respect, friendship, humility, and enjoyment.

Thank You, Friends

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Wasps RC and Bandar Logs Marseille for making this amateur rugby weekend such a memorable experience.

Thank you for the rugby, the friendship, the conversations, and the memories. You reminded us that rugby is not just about hits, tackles, and tries—it is about people coming together, building lasting friendships, and enjoying every moment along the way.

You will always have a special place in the hearts of the Arlechinii family, and we look forward to meeting again in the future.

Until next time, our friends.
